Find an ACT Therapist

If you are an ACT therapist: If you are not listed here and would like to be, we encourage this! Please see How to become a listed ACT therapist.

If you are a member of the public: Welcome! This page lists members of ACBS who have identified themselves as ACT therapists and who are available for consultation. You can browse the list, or use the search feature to look for therapists by country, state, or city.

IMPORTANT: Contact links for therapists are visible only if you have signed up for free membership and logged in. Please see the instructions below!

How to contact a therapist listed on this page:

• Click a therapist name to see the detail page for that therapist, listing credentials, background, etc.

• Each detail page also includes a Contact link for emailing the therapist - but for the link to be visible, you must first obtain a site membership and log in. This membership is free, and can be completely anonymous. Click here to sign up.

• Due to technical limitations of the Web site, currently the Contact link described above is the only contact information we carry for therapists. However, many of our therapists advertise through other means - so once you have a therapist’s name, try Googling them, consulting the Yellow pages, etc.

How to find additional ACT therapists:

This list is by no means complete! If it doesn’t show an ACT therapist in your area, you may still be able to find one by other means. Some suggestions:

• Consult psychology, social work, and psychiatry departments at colleges or universities near you. Ask to speak to any members of the faculty or staff who are experts in behavior therapy, cognitive therapy, or clinical behavior analysis. Upon speaking to these experts, ask them if they have heard about ACT and know of any local ACT therapists.

• In the U.S., you can also check the therapist directory at the Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapy (www.abct.org) for behavioral therapists in your area. If you find any, you can ask them directly if they do ACT or other “third generation” behavioral or cognitive therapy. Even if they do not, they may know of a colleague who does and be able to refer you.

• In countries besides the U.S., you may be able to contact similar organizations to try the strategy described above.
